At the invitation of seven universities, the Peiyang Chorus of Tianjin University in China, a world-renowned international ensemble, will tour the United States in March. This tour aims to promote cultural exchange between academic institutions in China and the United States.
A 90-minute concert will be held on March 23 (Tuesday) at Shriver Hall on Homewood campus of Johns Hopkins University.
Founded in 1985, Peiyang Chorus has been awarded seven gold medals in international competitions and honored as a world-class chorus by International Federation for Choral Music. For the past two decades, Peiyang Chorus has offered performances in more than 20 countries. It has performed nearly 1,000 choral compositions in various styles and in more than ten languages. The Chairman of the International Federation of Choral Music, Mr. Lupwishi Mbuyamba, has praised the chorus as "China's Angels."
